EchoNote ("the App") is an audio recording and AI-powered transcription app for Android. Your privacy is important to us. This policy explains what data the App accesses, how it is used, and your choices.
When you request a transcription or summary, the audio is sent to one of the following third-party AI services:
Audio is transmitted in-memory for processing and is not permanently stored on our servers or the third-party services beyond the duration of the API request. Please refer to each provider's own privacy policy for their data handling practices.
If you choose to use your own API keys, those keys are stored on your device using encrypted local storage. In proxy mode, selected BYOK keys may be transmitted to our proxy in request headers for key validation and provider API calls. If you enable "Direct Mode," requests are sent directly from your device to the AI provider without passing through our proxy.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any third parties for marketing or advertising purposes. Audio data is only transmitted to the AI service providers listed above for the sole purpose of transcription and summarisation.
The App does not contain any advertising SDKs or third-party analytics trackers.
Audio recordings are stored locally and can be deleted at any time from inside the App. You may also delete your server-side usage record and all local data from Settings → Delete account data.
The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
We may update this policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted at this URL with a revised effective date.
